Valentines Day, Arlington Park, Hot Springs, AR.
Fordyce Bathhouse, Hot Springs, AR
The Arlington Hotel reminds me strongly of the Overlook Hotel, the haunted resort in Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining.” Its fixtures, decor and furnishings belong to another era, its color scheme is a slightly malevolent yellow, its hallways run seemingly into infinity … and, oh yeah, it was a hangout for Al Capone and other gangsters. Not to mention, there are reportedly ghosts in the place. Here is a staircase just off the balcony, near the Crystal Ballroom.
One of those “infinity hallways” of the Arlington Hotel. This is the eighth floor, where a murder allegedly took place.
