My father-in-law, Larry Taylor, can do anything. A retired Magnolia police chief, Larry not only heads up the county’s emergency response agency but is himself an accomplished fisherman, hunter, HAM radio operator, marksman, artist (woodcarving), chef (venison, barbecue sauce), and, yes, fireworks artist/expert. Tonight, July 4, he devised and executed a hell of a show, at the home of his son, Larry Jess. We all sat back to watch in awe as Larry’s mini-spectacular illuminated the sky (so brightly that LJ’s outdoor safety light thought it was daylight and switched itself off). I photographed the event with my 70-200mm f/2.8 Nikkor lens and was happy with the results, a few of which are included here.
